Actors for WANDA'S MONSTER
Kristin Pacelli as Granny
Laura Karner as Bobby
Laura is a Pittsburgh-based actor, producer, and director. She has been lucky enough to appear in three of Mariposa's cabarets. Other local theatres she has performed with include City Theatre, MTAP, Pittsburgh New Works Festival, Paragon Studios, and MRA. As a producer, Laura helmed The Confidential Musical Theatre Project in Pittsburgh. She also produced and directed the local premiere of 35mm. She's a graduate of Randolph College for the Performing Arts.
Layne Ashton as Wanda
Layne is delighted to make her first appearance with Mariposa Theatre for Young Audiences to perform the role of Wanda in their production of Wanda’s Monster. Layne was most recently seen in The Producers (Carmen Ghia), Jesus Christ Superstar (Sinity), Legally Blonde (Elle Woods), Evita (Eva Peron), Freaky Friday (Ellie Blake), 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Schwartzy), and The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Edwin Drood). A few of her favorite past performances are Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, Wednesday in The Addams Family and Natalie in Next to Normal. She studied at Seton Hill University where she received a BFA in Musical Theatre. Currently she is working for Dance Ink as a musical theatre teacher and private instructor. She’d like to thank God for all of His great blessings and her incredible husband, Jason, for all his love and support.
Adam Seligson as The Monster
Adam is super duper excited to be getting his boogie on in Wanda's Monster! He has previously performed in Aladdin's Luck, Sleeping Beauty, and Rapunzel with Mariposa. Other recent credits include Algernon in THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST with Pittsburgh Savoyards, participation in the Black & White Theatre Festival with Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre, and Mortimer in ARSENIC AND OLD LACE with Prime Stage Theatre. He hopes you'll feel inclined to have as much fun watching the show as he has had bringing it to life with his friends and cast members. Cheers!
